The state protects me, and keeps me free of need.

It keeps our country green.

It keeps me away from trouble.

It gives me strength and hope.

It leads us forward, for the good of us all.

Even when calamity threatens me, I am unafraid,

Because the state will defend me.

Its police and their might reassure me.

It nourishes me, even as my enemies watch.

It treats me like a king; I couldn’t ask for more.

Certainly virtue and compassion will be mine as long as I live,

And the state will care for me until the day I die.

It’s a good thing we don’t listen to that fundamentalist nonsense anymore.  Not us enlightened folk.  No, siree.
